Learning Community

The Refugee Educator Foundations of Practice initiative is a three year pilot project that seeks to develop a sustainable, high-impact professional learning community to teach, support, and connect educators working with students of refugee and migrant backgrounds resettled throughout the United States.

PROGRESS: We started the project with our first cohort of educators in July, 2019 and will work with a total of three cohorts and over 300 teachers before project completion in April, 2021.

APPROACH: Using processes of dialog, reflection, and co-construction to iterate on the course offering and learning structures

OBJECTIVE: We aim to have a scalable model for participant-centered, job-embedded professional learning that can be implemented across teaching and learning contexts.
